THEMATIC: Freedom and constraint
Since when I took up my artistic and professional activity as goldsmith and silversmith, I have always thought that studying and understanding the history of jewel, acquiring the various technics, keeping myself up-to-date and linked to the other expressions of art, would have led me towards a complete awareness of the subject and, as a consequence, towards a satisfactory freedom of expression (knowledge and freedom)
Such freedom is also due to the everyday practice (necessary and strongly obligatory in my opinion) that, with my hard work and sacrifice and effort and strictness, but, in the end, with extreme joy, leads me to the planning and the realizing of my jewels with their strong interpretative connotation.
Those who nowadays produce wine, should have exactly the same complete consciousness of the wine’s history, they should all the same know the various experimentations that have taken place in far away times and places, in order to be able to interprete with modern sensibility and care, the most important characteristics of a good wine.
My jewel is like a journey in the history of wine and its culture and tradition (I imagined to have the Alexander Sokurov’s steadicam in his 2002 film “Arca Russa”, that in a single take freely flies along the Hermitage Museum ), with a consequent gathering of essences and primary fragrances necessary to produce a good wine, kept in sealed and listed glass crusts (the closed circle represents the museum area, where memory and knowledge are preserved)
